Defying The Natural Aging Process

Aging is a natural process that affects each aspect of our lives. As the seasons pass, various environmental factors disrupt the delicate balances present in the human body systems, resulting in the breakdown of cellular health and vibrancy. While it is true that the Fountain of Youth is a fallacy, there exists numerous preventive measures and anti-aging techniques that will promote a youthful appearance throughout one’s lifetime and helps defying the natural aging process.

Many studies indicate the efficacy of exercise in maintaining cell health. Although the exact reason for exercise-related youth preservation is unknown, many fitness enthusiasts tout the benefits of cardiovascular health, circulation, and the chemical release of endorphins and serotonin. The key to extracting optimal, anti-aging benefits from exercise is consistency and routine. A fairly rigorous fitness regime is easy to maintain if a routine is formed, causing your body to anticipate and crave exercise at specific times.

In addition to strength-building and aerobic exercise, yoga is an excellent option. Combined with meditation for mental balance, this low-impact discipline often sparks a lifestyle replete with a nourishing diet, healthy habits and low-stress peace of mind.

Consuming foods that are rich in phytonutrients helps to combat the aging effects of free radicals and inflammation. These important antioxidants, along with anti-inflammatory foods, can be found in fish, fruits and vegetables, legumes, yogurt and nuts. Super-foods are prominent in the health and marketing worlds now. They tend to be rich in antioxidants with strong anti-inflammatory properties and restorative powers. Fortunately, despite their quasi-mystical health benefits, super-foods are widely accessible to the public. Some examples are blueberries, green tea, acai, buckwheat, garlic, hot peppers and sprouts.

The world revolves around an yin and yang principle, so inevitably along the many age-defying techniques and sources are habit and environment-related detriments to health. Just ahead of smoking as the main culprit for unnatural aging is sun exposure. While it is true that the human body requires sunlight for vitamin D, unchecked exposure carries many threats, including aging skin.

Aging gracefully is a sum of its parts. One cannot pick and choose which healthy habits to acquire and expect to receive optimal results. Possessing a sound mind and body is an ongoing process, somewhat similar to a job and most definitely equable to a lifestyle. Along with exercise, a healthy diet and avoidance of the aforementioned age-accelerators, adequate sleep is necessary. The current sleep recommendation is 7-8 hours per night, without taking into consideration accumulated “sleep debt.” Also, water is an often-unappreciated but essential nutrient. While vegetable and fruit juices boast indisputable benefits and contain a high percentage of water, drinking pure water to thirst will produce noticeable clarity and firmness in human skin.

In addition to avoiding unnecessary sun exposure, applying sunscreen before going outside, and at regular intervals, is crucial to maintaining a youthful appearance  and works well in defying the natural aging process even through decades of aging.

  3. It is more of the lifestyle that delays the aging process rather than the supposedly instant sources of youthful radiance such as pills and other medicinal or herbal formulas. But really, healthy diet is the best out of all the effective ways of healthy lifestyle. Then comes the responsibility to maintain a fit body by exercising away all the toxic chemicals and flush them away immediately from the body.
