It’s pivotal to stay safe and sound during your pregnancy, but this might often prove to be a daunting task, especially if your OB/Gyn or general practitioner discovers that you are carrying a risky pregnancy. What do you do if you’re told you will be stuck at home in bed for the next couple of months? Alternatively, what do you do if you are the first in your group of friends to remain pregnant? What if support and advice are not readily available for you offline? Simple. You go looking for useful online pregnancy tools. There are many websites out there that offer a good pregnancy calculator, frequently asked questions list, forum or pregnancy calendar. Used appropriately, these useful online pregnancy tools can prove priceless in the evolution of your pregnancy.

Pregnancy Website Forums:

It’s always great to meet other expectant parents, or new mothers, ready to impart their knowledge and share their experience. It’s good to know what others have been through and to look ahead and figure out what to expect once you’ve actually given birth. There are many forums out there with a closely-knit supportive community that will help you overcome any fears you might have. Many users will rush to answer your questions. It’s wonderful to know there is always someone there to alleviate your stress when you need them to. However, take any information you receive on pregnancy forums with a grain of salt. Remember that not all information applies to everyone and that every pregnancy is essentially different. Check and double check advice with your personal doctor.

Pregnancy Calendars:

A well-structured pregnancy calendar is a great tool, which will help you make sense of the changes your body is undergoing. You can also use it to fill in any information on the evolution of the fetus that you receive from your doctor. Another good use of a pregnancy calendar is that you will also be looking ahead. You will know when your yet unborn baby starts to develop a heart, fingers and internal organs. You will have visual and informational aids to this delicate and exciting process unfurling in your life.

Pregnancy Calculators:

A pregnancy calculator will use your input of the last days of your previous menstrual cycle, plus the number of days your menstrual cycle lasts for. It will help you find out when fertilization occurred (i.e., the date you fell pregnant) and then work out the day you give birth. You’ll be able to take some worries of your mind and feel much more relaxed once you know when you are due. Just remember that the date provided by the calculator is not set in stone and is subject to a great many factors. It can always change, of course, as you could give birth before term, for instance. However, it’s always useful to know an approximate date for delivery.
