OVERWEIGHT – An important chapter in Health and Fitness Regime.

Your outweighing body not only affects your outer presentation and performance but does considerably impact your overall health and fitness, the internal system too. Hence it is a major concern which is to be taken care of under a regular and efficient health and fitness regime.

There are multiple healthy reasons why you should shed some weight – like it feels good, it makes you more productive, it helps you stay more comfortable and above all avoid deadly diseases that an excess weight carries along.

Some common diseases that come up with uncontrolled weight gain are:

Heart diseases: Overweight people are prone to develop high blood pressure, a major risk for heart diseases and stroke. Increase in cholesterol and blood fats is directly linked with heart diseases.

Diabetes: Overweight people are more likely to develop diabetes than normal people. It is a major cause of early death, heart disease, kidney disease and blindness.

Cancer: Many types of cancer diseases are directly linked with obesity, like cancer of uterus, gallbladder, cervix, ovary, breast in women and cancer of colon, rectum and prostate in men.

Arthritis: Overweight bodies place extra pressure on joints and damages cartilage, the protective tissues that cushions the joints resulting into joint disorder. The most affected parts are knees, hips and lower back.

Gallbladder: Gallstone is a common problem in overweight people leading to super saturation of bile.

Other: Sleep apnea, interrupted breathing during sleep, chest pain caused by decreased oxygen to heart and sometimes a reason of sudden death or stroke without any signs or symptoms. Another problem is Gout, the joint disease caused by increased uric acid in blood and its deposits in the joints.

Treatments are always there but prevention is still better than cure. A good way to keep all these dirty deadly diseases at bay is to give off some of your pounds. Slow and steady is the mantra. Do not try to slice yourself off in a single day for a rapid weight loss can also cause sever health problems.

Here are some easy to go suggestions for weight loss and control:

Diet Control: Eat in varieties like pasta, bread, rice and other whole-grain foods. Include more and more fruits and vegetables in your diet and exclude oils and fats.

Eating Habits: Monitor your eating habits and improve them to a healthy level. Do not eat while watching television or playing video games. Eat while you are eating and feel it nourishing your body instead of just stuffing it. Eat small meals with every short interval in a day rather filling it in one sitting.

Morning Exercise: Make any one of the light exercises or outdoor games your routine like walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or just playing with your kids and kittens in the garden will do. Make these simple activities part of your daily health and fitness regime as a routine.

Physical Activity: Incorporate more physical activities, than you normally do, in your day work. Like avoid playing video games, watching television or sitting long ours before your PC. Keep moving every now and then, it helps in every way.

Drink more water: Water is a good and natural way of controlling fats. Take a minimum of 8-10 glass of water a day. Replace your intakes of soft drinks and other beverages with water.

Just follow the above suggestions as a routine health care and fitness regime and you will experience some immediate benefits and improvement in your overall health and fitness. If you see any symptom of health and fitness problem due to obesity, it’s high time you consult your physician.
